Take a look at this gorgeous Richmond sunset family photoshoot. Both the family and the sunset are breathtaking. This is my absolute favorite time of day to shoot outside. The light is soft and flattering and everything glows. The love between the members of this sweet family was enough to glow but the sunset only enhanced the vibe. Paired with the earth tone colors I suggested for them to wear, mother nature showed up. In all her glory, she christened this Richmond sunset family photoshoot with a sweet golden kiss. The tones are rich and everything flowed seamlessly.

Everything about their session just screams warmth and fall. Fall, just happens to be my favorite season for outdoor photography. It’s also my busiest season. I am inundated with last minute requests to take on a family photography sessions. due to being completely booked up, I have to end up turning people down . I know sometimes photographers get annoyed when people want to jump in and just “take a quick one”. Like… that’s exactly what we are there for, right?

But this grandma cracked me at my Fresh 48 newborn session that I did in the hospital earlier this week.

Honestly, it is my favorite picture from the session. I love the story that it tells. I love that it’s the kind of moment that rarely gets documented or seen from another perspective.

I know sometimes photographers get annoyed when people want to jump in and just “take a quick one”. Like… that’s exactly what we are there for, right?
