Richmond VA Cake Smash Photograper| Alina Turns One

I was leaving Richmond,VA and on my way to Denver, CO to see my best friend for a belated birthday weekend when I got an email inquiry about a Cake Smash session.  As soon as I returned from the birthday festivities I had sweet little Alina in the studio to make a cake filled mess.  Alina is cute as a button and full of smiles.  We went with a purple and gold color combination for her Cake Smash pictures.  Alina’s mom had also shared with me a couple of pictures of outfits prior to the session and I knew of just the perfect set up for both the smashing and the casual pictures.

We started with the fun part, as I normally do.  I have found it to be a bit easier to get the messy part out of the way first.  While that may sound completely backwards, it enables me to switch set ups faster and keeps the sweet babies from being distracted by all the pretty balloons and decorations sitting around.  Once we finish having fun smashing and bashing cake I let my kiddos get cleaned up in my vintage tub sinks.  From there we are ready to roll with precious pictures of the one year old simply being themselves.  I absolutely love Cake Smash sessions.  They are especially dear to me when I’ve had the little one in the studio as a newborn.  This wasn’t the case with Alina, but meeting her for the first time during her Cake Smash was a very fun experience.  She has personality galore!
