Miss Kinsley (love her name) was my first client to request a pink and gold cake smash. Well, to be honest, I’m not sure request is the right word. I talked with mom and dad about outfit choices for each part of Kinsely’s session and we kind of landed on the idea together. I had been secretly wanting to do this color combo for so long so I think when I got the slightest clue that I could make it work for this fun one year old, I ran with it. It is probably still my favorite cake smash to date… even if it was 6 months ago. Sigh…. this year’s goal is to be much better about blogging my sessions in a timely fashion. I really will try!
Back to Kinsely. Kinsley was a cutie! No doubt. She wasn’t, however, very fond of having her picture taken at first. She was in a new environment and she wanted to check it ALL out. The last thing she was ready to agree to was staying put in one place. Hahaha. I don’t mind at all. I love seeing how creative I can get with my tactics to get that great shot. I’m also a firm believer that letting them discover on their own will make way for a much smoother session. They usually make their way back to area in which I need them to be. In the meantime, I get the opportunity to show them things, earn their trust, and become friends with them. I do, so very much, love that part of my job.
Kinsley showed my plenty of her adorable personality. She was an absolute hoot! Throughout the photos you will see how see started warming up and really had a blast by the end of her session. The colors were gorgeous, she was gorgeous, it was all gorgeous! I even printed out a large canvas of her one of her cake smash photos and it is hanging in my studio. It also graces the front page of my website. Yes, that’s how much I loved this cake smash!
