I met little Miss Raegan a year ago when she came into my photography studio for her two year old portraits. I like to call yearly portraits Milestone Sessions. It is a way to document, yearly, the changes and growth in these sweet children. I especially love when I get to start photographing them as newborns and watch them grow into toddlers and then big boys and girls! Raegan is going to be a big sister later this summer so I will start photographing her little brother or sister from the very beginning.
Miss Raegan is one of the happiest kids I’ve met. She always has a smile on her face and is ready to do anything I ask. I’ve never had to bribe her (though I don’t mind that at all- it’s part of the job) to finish a session. This three year old milestone session was done in about 15 minutes because of how well she took direction. We had a lot of fun together. I had a vision for her session and told her parents about it. They loved it so I set up a white bed next to the glass doors in my studio. I covered the doors with white curtains to filter the light. I not only allowed this precious little girl to jump on the bed, I encouraged it! Pictures aren’t all about looking at the camera and smiling pretty. It’s about capturing life and personality. I know as a parent I want to get a sense of who my child really is from a photo. That is exactly what I try to give each and every one of my clients as well.
So here we go…. I present to you, Raegan.
