My Libby Hill Family Session with the Young’s was what dreams are made of. My first two “go-to” places had me thinking this session was going to be a bust. I was discouraged by a man washing his car in my staple sidewalk scene and again when I found out that the gorgeous “secret garden” had been cut back to unrecognizable. But the show must go on, right? And it did. With sass and laughter galore.
We walked, and talked, and played. Indiana showed me her best twirling skills while sweet little Francis was hurled into the air. I gave them a few prompts and received looks of doubts. I know they thought I had lost my mind. Reluctantly they obliged and I promised the awkwardness would pay off. Hahaha. It always does. The best pictures are made of moments that my clients are laughing and smiling uninhibited. Where fun abounds.
Nancy had told me that they got married and Libby Hill and had referenced some spots she would like incorporated. Though there was a stone wall that she talked about, I had never seen it. It, however, was just off the beaten path and was the barrier to some neighboring houses. The wall itself did not initially “wow” me but as I slowly turned around, I found magic. The grasses. Ohhhh I am a sucker over and over for tall grasses. I could shoot every session, every day in overgrown weeds. I don’t even need a full field. Just give me a patch. Couple it with a setting sun and I am in heaven!
