Choosing the Right Newborn Photographer

This little beauty is Harlem and her photo session was unique because she is in full leg casts. Harlem’s casts simply added to her story. With mom’s blessing, we chose to feature her casts in some of her photos. We were particularly careful when positioning her and never forced her into a pose where she was uncomfortable. Casts or no casts, we would never force a newborn into a position they are uncomfortable in. When choosing the right newborn photographer, you want to make sure you pick someone who can safely capture all the adorable pictures of your precious newborn. Here are some things to look for when choosing the right newborn photographer.

Make sure they are licensed and insured. That they have been trained in newborn posing and have good references. Also, make sure they have an assistant to help pose and secure your newborn. And finally, check that they know how to safely and calmly soothe a fussy baby. You can find my blog of how I soothe a newborn here.

Don’t let birth injuries, special needs or deformities affect your decision to have pictures taken of your newborn! It is part of their story that can be captured with the right newborn photographer. For more information on newborn photography with me, click here.
