Cake Smash and Splash!

First birthdays are the perfect excuse for a cake smash and splash kind of day!  Levin, previously photographed as a newborn here in the Jen Jacobowitz Photography studio, returned to me on the very day of his first birthday.  Originally Carly, his sweet mom, had inquired about some cute casual photos of him.  Since casual pictures are included in the Cake Smash Sessions I suggested that we let Levin have a little fun on his big day.  I provide the cake, the outfits, and all props/decorations needed for the session so there is nothing extra for the parents to bring.  Carly agreed and when they arrived we picked through the handful of outfits I had laid out as choices.  We started with what he was wearing and then switched up to some JJP outfits that mom adored.

Levin had an absolute blast devouring his cake.  I’m positive that there was not one inch of it left untouched.  In fact, he was still eating cake when we put him in his milk bath to clean up.  You will see in the pictures below that he carried it into the tub with him.  It was so cute to watch him splash, take a bite, and splash some more.  As if the Cake Smash portion of the photography session was not fun enough for this little man, the bath was the icing on the cake for him.  He has personality galore and every bit of it came out for me and my camera.  Oh…. and y’all check out this head of hair, would ya?  I’m so jealous of all those curls!
