There’s something uniquely beautiful about photographing twin newborns. Every twin newborn photography session feels like a tender reminder of connection — not only between two tiny souls, but within the entire family.

When this sweet family arrived at my Richmond studio with their twins, I could see that mix of wonder and exhaustion all new parents feel — only doubled. Those early days move fast, and my goal as a newborn photographer is to create a calm, peaceful space where they can slow down and simply take in the beauty of their babies.

Creating Calm in the Studio

Each twin newborn session starts with warmth, patience, and gentle wrapping. I love taking a moment to notice their subtle differences — maybe one stretches a tiny hand free while the other tucks in closer. Yet when I place them side by side, they instinctively snuggle together, breathing in rhythm, completely at ease.

That bond is what makes twin photography so special — they’ve shared a heartbeat since before birth, and you can see it in every little movement.

The Art of Photographing Twins

Photographing two newborns at once takes practice and intuition. I move slowly, soothing one baby while the other drifts off, adjusting wraps, keeping everyone cozy. Sometimes I pause just to take in the magic of it all — two perfect little humans, perfectly connected.

My favorite images are often the unplanned ones: a soft yawn, a tiny hand resting on a sibling’s cheek, or both babies drifting off into that deep newborn sleep together. Those quiet, in-between moments are the ones that tell the story best.

A Forever Keepsake for Families

When parents see their babies resting gently and so sweetly posed, the emotion in the room is always palpable. These photographs become more than just memories — they’re the first visual record of their twins’ bond, a story that will only grow deeper with time.

Every twin newborn photography session reminds me why I love this work so deeply. It’s an honor to capture not just their tiny features, but the connection they’ll carry through life — double the challenge, double the joy, and absolutely double the love.

I’m looking forward to cooler temps and a season of change. It’s just around the corner!

Fall Mini Sessions will take place Oct 24 & 25. Registration for these sessions will open up this Saturday, July 25 @ 9am.

Without fail, EVERY year, I have multiple inquiries for mini sessions long after the beautiful leaves are gone. I can not recreate Mother Nature, folks… nor do I offer fall minis outside of these dates. PLEASE book your session early.

Full (regular) sessions will also be available all season long for those who would enjoy a bit slower place, more images and more snuggles. 🥰

Santa will be in the studio on Nov 7th this year. Yes, Santa is early this year. Why, you ask?

Well, it takes about 2 weeks for your fully edited images to be delivered to you. Many have asked for their images to be ready by Black Friday so they can catch a sale on Christmas cards. Your wish is granted!

Your images will be in your inbox no later than 11/21 (11/22 for my Sunday peeps) giving you a few days to get those cards ready and catch those sales!

Santa sessions will be held in the morning on Nov 7th.

Family Fun Christmas Cookie Sessions without Santa will be held in the afternoon on Nov 7th & 8th.

I can’t wait to see everyone and create some holiday magic. The easiest way to stay informed about registration is to sign up for my newsletter linked in my bio.
