A Purple and Gold Cake Smash Photography Session
I recently had the honor of photographing Danielle’s one year old purple and gold cake smash session. I have actually been photographing her since she was in the womb, just as I did her sweet sister. It has truly been a pleasure to watch both of the M girls grow up. I whole heartedly consider their parents my friends after having shared so many precious milestones with them!
Danielle’s big sister, Brooke, had a pink and gold cake smash when she came to me a little over three years ago. I thought it to be fitting that their pictures would be please the eye side by side in any room. With that in mind, and staying true to my simplistic approach to cake smash photography, I designed Dani’s purple and gold cake smash set. Their mom, hoping to avoid future therapy sessions over who got the better cake, wisely opted to go with the same baker she had used for her first daughter’s cake smash session to make sure the cakes would be similar. Although I now supply the cake’s for my cake smash session, you always have the option of bringing you own.
Things Don’t Always Go As Planned
We’ve all heard the lyrics “It’s my party and I’ll cry if I want to…”. Well, many times that is the case. We do everything we can to plan for the perfect photography session by working around nap times, etc. However, these cute little birthday boys and girls have a mind and personality all of their own. This does not have to mean failure. Not my any means. Whether your child is happy or…. not so happy… I am going to photography their personality. Do not fret that they are not smiling in every picture. MANY times it has been the crying pictures that end of up being the parent’s favorite. Sometimes it just really sums up life. Fear not Mamas and Daddys… I got this. :)
